(via Cottonmouth blog) In a letter issued earlier this month, Brandon Jones, Executive Director of the
Mississippi Democratic Trust, and Tyrone Hendrix, President of the Young
Democrats of Mississippi, have called on Congress to extend the 3.4% interest
rate on federal college student loans. This rate is set to double to 6.8% if
Congress doesn't take action this month. The call to action was picked up by the
Mississippi Press and other news outlets across the state. The letter may be read in its entirety here.
In an e-mail
to Trust supporters, Jones also announced a Fall college campus tour intended to
energize college Dems.
